Only what you typed, and where you typed it.
There is one form on this site and it is the only thing that asks you for anything. Nothing on any page collects your details quietly in the background.
- What you fill inYour name, your phone number, your email address, the address of the property, and whether you would rather be contacted by phone, email or text.
- Which page you sent it fromThe address of the page the form was on, so we know what you were reading when you asked.
- How you arrivedThe first page you landed on, and whether you came from a search engine, a link or an ad. This is attached to the enquiry so we can tell which advertising is worth paying for.
What we do not ask for
Nothing about your finances, and no identity documents. There is no account to create, no password to set, and nothing on this site takes a payment. If anything ever asks you for a card number in our name, it is not us.
To call you back about a roof.
You send the form because you want an inspection. Everything we do with what you sent is in service of that, and it stops when that is finished.

- To honour the warrantyIf you go ahead, we keep the record of what was fitted at your address, because the warranty is tied to that address and transfers with it.
What we will not do with it
We do not sell it, rent it, trade it, or hand it to anyone for their own advertising. We do not add you to a mailing list because you asked for a quote. If you have not heard from us in a while, it is because you did not ask us to keep in touch, not because we lost the file.
It passes through American companies.
We are a small Canadian business using ordinary tools, and the ordinary tools are hosted in the United States. That means information held there can in principle be reached by American authorities under American law, which is worth saying plainly rather than burying.
Carries the form from this site to our inbox. Your enquiry passes through their servers on the way.
The enquiry arrives as an email and sits in a Gmail inbox, the same as any message you would send us directly.
The lettering on these pages is loaded from Google's servers, which means your browser tells them your IP address when a page opens. No form data is involved.
The website itself
These pages are served from a hosting account in Canada over an encrypted connection. The host keeps ordinary server logs, which record IP addresses the way every web server has since the beginning.

The free inspection produces a set of close-up images of your roofline, and the finished job produces a second set. Photographs of somebody's home deserve their own paragraph in a policy like this.
- They are yoursYou get them whether or not you go ahead with the work.
- We keep a copyThey are what the quote was built from and what a warranty claim would be measured against, so we hold onto them for as long as the warranty could be called on.
- We ask before we show them to anyoneIf we want to use an image of your property in our own advertising, on Instagram or anywhere else, we ask you first and you are free to say no. Saying no changes nothing about the work or the warranty.
The flying itself
The drone is flown to photograph your roofline and nothing else. It is not used to record your neighbours, and the survey is over in about twenty minutes.
One note, thrown away on close.
This site sets no cookies at all. The only thing it puts in your browser is a single note recording how you arrived, so that if you do send the form it can say where it came from. Your browser throws it away when you close the tab, no other site can read it, and there is nothing in it that identifies you.
Ask us, and we have to answer.
Canadian privacy law gives you rights over information a business holds about you. Using them costs nothing and takes one email.
- See what we haveAsk, and we will tell you what we hold about you and what we have done with it.
- Correct itIf something is wrong, tell us and we will fix it.
- Have it deletedAsk us to delete your enquiry and we will, unless we are required to keep a record of work already carried out at your address.
- Change your mindYou can withdraw your consent at any time. We will stop contacting you.
How long we keep things
An enquiry that never turns into a job is deleted once it is clear nothing is going ahead. If you become a customer, we keep the record of the work and the photographs for as long as the lifetime warranty on your installation could be claimed, because that record is what makes the warranty enforceable.

Come to us first, at gutterproofcanada@gmail.com, and we will deal with it. If you are not satisfied with how we handled it, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, which oversees the federal law this page is written under.
If this page changes
We will change it here and move the date below. We will not quietly start doing something with your information that this page says we do not do.
