Every company in this category offers a free estimate. This is not that. A drone flies the full perimeter of your house and photographs the roofline close up: every gutter run, every corner, every seam, every downspout collar, and the elevations you cannot see from the ground or from a ladder.
It takes about twenty minutes. Nobody sets foot on your roof and no ladder goes up. At the end of it you have a set of images of your own house, and you keep them whether or not you ever hear from us again.
Six things decide whether a gutter drains.
Every one of them is on the roofline, and every one of them is invisible from the driveway. This is the list the survey works through and the list the price is built from.
What is actually sitting in the gutter along each elevation, including the back of the house, which is where the problem usually is and where nobody ever looks.
The joints that fail first. Sealant shrinks, pulls away and lets water out behind the gutter rather than through the downspout.
Where two sections meet, and where the run hands water to the downspout. A collar that has opened up empties the gutter down the wall.
A run needs about a quarter inch of fall for every ten feet. Where it has lost that, you can see the water sitting in it from above.
Where hangers have pulled away, where the gutter has separated from the fascia board, and whether the wood behind it has started to go.
What is on there now, what state it is in, and what is happening underneath it. This is usually the most useful set of images on the whole survey.
You should see it before we do.
Gutters are the one part of a house nobody ever sees. They are eight feet above your head at the closest point and thirty at the furthest, and the only people who have ever looked at yours were being paid to sell you something at the time.
So we photograph it first and hand you the images. If they show a gutter that needs what we install, you can see why. If they show something else, you can see that too, and you have a record of your own roofline either way.

Where the limits are.
It is free because it is how we quote
There is no catch and no fee at any point, but we are not pretending it is a public service either. We fly it because we cannot price a job honestly without seeing the roofline, and because a homeowner who can see their own gutters makes a better decision than one who cannot.
A drone cannot see everything
It photographs the roofline from above and around. It does not show the inside of a downspout, the condition of wood behind an intact fascia board, or anything under the shingles. Where something needs opening up to be sure, we say so instead of guessing from an image.
Weather and airspace
Drones do not fly safely in high wind, heavy rain or snow, and parts of the GTA sit under controlled airspace near the airports. If either applies at your address we will tell you when we book, not on the day.
We might tell you not to buy anything
If the images show gutters that need replacing rather than protecting, or a problem that is somebody else's trade, that is what we will say. It happens, and it is the reason the inspection is worth having whichever way it goes.
